At St. John's, every child is a creator. We celebrate the full spectrum of human expression — from the sweep of a paintbrush to the rhythm of a dance, from the elegance of a mathematical proof to the power of a spoken word. Here, creativity is not a subject. It is a way of life.
"Every student at St. John's carries within them a unique spark — a gift waiting to be discovered. Our World of Creativity is where those sparks become flames."
Our students explore nine distinct domains of creativity, each nurtured by dedicated teachers and vibrant platforms for expression, competition, and celebration.
From pencil sketches to vibrant watercolour canvases, our students learn to see the world through an artist's eye. Drawing, painting, portraiture, landscape, and mixed-media art are taught and celebrated as serious disciplines at St. John's. Annual exhibitions showcase extraordinary student talent.
The joy of making something with one's own hands is irreplaceable. Our craft programmes teach origami, clay modelling, paper mâché, fabric art, and eco-friendly craft — blending traditional Indian crafting traditions with modern design thinking and sustainability values.
Dance at St. John's is a celebration of India's rich cultural heritage and the joy of movement. Students train in classical Bharatanatyam, folk forms like Lavani and Garba, contemporary fusion, and group choreography — performing at school events, competitions, and cultural festivals with grace and passion.
Words have the power to move worlds. Our literature programme nurtures young writers, poets, storytellers, and essayists. Students participate in creative writing contests, poetry recitations, story-writing competitions, and contribute to the school magazine — developing a life-long love for language and literature.
Sport is creativity in motion. On our FIFA Certified Multi-Purpose Turf and across our sports programmes, students discover teamwork, discipline, strategy, and the thrill of competition. From football and cricket to judo, karate, yoga, skating and athletics, every child is an athlete in the making.
Music is the universal language of the soul. Our music programme introduces students to Indian classical and light music, western vocals, rhythm instruments, and ensemble performance. World Music Day, annual concerts, and inter-school music competitions give students a platform to shine as young musicians.
Science is the greatest creative enterprise in human history. In our state-of-the-art laboratories, students hypothesise, experiment, discover and present. The annual NEEV Fest and Science Day become festivals of scientific imagination where young inventors, researchers, and innovators share ideas that can change the world.
Mathematics is the art of pure reason — and one of the most creative disciplines known to humanity. At St. John's, maths is taught not just as computation but as a way of thinking. Math olympiads, puzzles, magic squares, and Vedic Maths techniques transform students into confident mathematical thinkers.
The stage is where students discover the full power of their voice, body, and imagination. Drama, role-play, mime, street theatre, and script-writing teach empathy, confidence, collaboration, and the art of storytelling. Annual plays and one-act play competitions are highlights of the St. John's calendar.
Creativity is not a talent reserved for the few — it is the birthright of every child. At St. John High School, we believe every student has a unique way of seeing and expressing the world. Our purpose is simply to create the space, the encouragement, and the opportunity for that expression to flourish.
— The Philosophy of Student Creativity, St. John High School, Dombivli
Language is the first and most powerful creative tool. We nurture confident, expressive, and creative communicators across three language streams — equipping every student with the gift of eloquent expression.
English at St. John's goes far beyond grammar and comprehension. Our students are trained to speak with clarity, write with creativity, and perform with confidence. From formal debates to dramatic monologues, English becomes a tool for leadership, global communication, and storytelling.
Marathi is the proud mother tongue of Maharashtra — a language rich with poetry, literature, theatre, and folk tradition. Our students celebrate Marathi with pride through kavita recitation, natika, abhang singing, and essay writing, keeping alive the legacy of Sant Dnyaneshwar, Tukaram and Savarkar.
Hindi — the heartbeat of our nation — is celebrated at St. John's with enthusiasm and depth. Through kavita, kahani lekhan, bhashan, and natika, students connect with India's rich literary heritage of Premchand, Mahadevi Verma, and Harivansh Rai Bachchan, building both patriotism and eloquence.
