OLEs at Heritage International School are more than fun excursions. They are carefully thought through and planned experiences, mapped to the curriculum, that also embed vital interpersonal skills in every student.
Each Outbound Learning Experience is designed with a clear educational purpose — connecting classroom learning to the living, breathing world beyond the school gates and giving every Heritagian the gift of real experience.
Whether exploring the city's cultural institutions, journeying across India's diverse landscapes, or visiting the heart of working communities — every OLE is a lesson that cannot be taught from a textbook.
Three distinct OLE formats ensure every Heritagian experiences learning in breadth and depth — from the city streets to national landscapes and living communities.
Students visit key cultural, educational and experiential destinations within and around Kalyan and the wider Mumbai Metropolitan Region — all carefully selected to complement and enrich the school curriculum under the guidance of expert mentors.
From the wonder of a planetarium to the hands-on reality of Kidzania — a global indoor theme park where students experience real-life job simulations — every city visit brings learning alive in the most memorable way.
Organised for students from Grade 5 onwards, Outstation Trips take Heritagians beyond the city and into the rich diversity of India. These carefully planned multi-day journeys build greater interpersonal skills, deepen an appreciation of nature and foster genuine exploration and understanding of local communities and culture.
In senior classes, students also take up hands-on community projects — including farming activities, learning local cooking practices and traditional art forms — contributing meaningfully to the communities they visit.
Field Trips take students directly into the heart of working institutions and community service centres — providing first-hand experiences of real-life situations and procedures that no classroom lesson can replicate.
From watching the wheels of industry turn in a factory to the quiet compassion of an old age home — these visits connect students to the full spectrum of society, nurturing empathy, curiosity and a profound sense of civic awareness and responsibility.

Experience is the greatest teacher. OLEs at Heritage give every student the real-world foundation that shapes confident, aware and capable global citizens.
Visits to science centres, planetariums and museums ignite a genuine love of discovery — connecting the abstract to the tangible in ways no textbook can.
Working and travelling together in group OLEs teaches collaboration, communication, compromise and mutual respect — essential social skills for life.
