Community Wellbeing
Heritage International School, Kalyan, prides itself in being a responsible part of the ecosystem. And we strive every day to contribute to building better citizens of tomorrow. A strong sense of giving characterises our ethos.
At HIS, we strongly advocate being a part of the solution rather than the problem. Our social initiatives across the verticals of environment, human rights, public health and scientific research have been appreciated by the community we serve.
We are dedicated to instilling a sense of service, respect and compassion towards the community — especially towards the less fortunate. The community outreach program aims to support students in finding their interests and encouraging involvement in the school, local and global community to work towards making the world a better place.
Our outreach work spans four interconnected areas of social responsibility — each one a dimension of our commitment to the community and the world.
Championing environmental stewardship through cleanliness drives, tree plantation, eco-awareness campaigns and sustainable practices that protect the planet for future generations.
Standing for dignity, equality and justice — supporting the underprivileged, elderly, orphans and the differently abled through dedicated service and resource sharing.
Raising awareness of health and wellbeing through community health drives, sanitation campaigns and visits to hospitals and care centres that build civic compassion.
Encouraging a scientific temper in service of society — applying research, observation and rational thinking to understand and address real-world community challenges.
A week dedicated to experiencing the warmth and fulfilment that comes from giving to others
Student-organised events that raise funds for the underprivileged in our community
Donations of clothes, food, stationery and books channelled to those in greatest need
Students are sensitised to the lives of others — building empathy and a deeper human connection
During the Joy of Sharing week, our students are sensitised to the lives of others — experiencing first-hand the deeply positive feelings inherent in the act of giving. The students conduct various Fund Raising Events and donate the proceeds to the needy through our flagship activity, CARE TO SHARE.
This is not just a charity exercise — it is a carefully structured emotional and social learning experience that builds empathy, generosity and a lifelong habit of service in every Heritagian who participates.
Donations include clothes, food, stationery and books — ensuring that the support reaches those who need it most in our immediate community and beyond.

Projects designed to promote and encourage environmental stewardship — from waste management and water conservation to biodiversity and sustainability awareness in the school and community.
A school-wide Cleanliness Drive inspired by the national Swachh Bharat movement — students take ownership of cleanliness in their immediate surroundings, school and neighbourhood streets.
A broader civic awareness campaign encouraging students to take positive action towards building a better India — through informed citizenship, responsible behaviour and community engagement.
Annual and ongoing tree plantation activities that green the school campus and surrounding community — building an understanding of ecology and personal responsibility for the natural world.
Students donate clothes, food, stationery and books to the underprivileged — and organise fund-raising events whose proceeds are channelled directly to the needy through our CARE TO SHARE programme.
Students host special school events — fetes, performances, bake sales and more — to raise funds for unprivileged communities, putting their creativity and energy in service of those in need.
Heritage actively supports Elderly Homes, Orphanages, Animal Shelters and schools for the educationally and physically challenged in our community — through visits, donations, performances and ongoing partnerships that build lasting human connections across generations and abilities.

Service is one of the most powerful educators. The values, skills and perspectives gained through community outreach last far longer than any classroom lesson.
Direct exposure to the lives of the less fortunate builds a profound, lived understanding of human diversity — and the desire to act with kindness and compassion always.
Students develop a strong sense of duty towards their community — understanding that they are active, responsible agents of the society they inhabit and the future they will inherit.
Organising events, running donation drives and leading community visits builds real leadership — the kind that is rooted in service and motivated by purpose, not personal gain.
Outreach activities connect students to the broader human story — building the worldview, values and sense of global responsibility that defines a true Heritage global citizen.
Hands-on participation in cleanliness drives, tree plantation and eco-campaigns creates genuine environmental ownership — habits and values that last a lifetime.
Serving others gives students a sense of purpose that goes beyond grades and achievements — a deep, personal understanding of what it means to live a meaningful and contributive life.
Our outreach touches the lives of people across all ages and circumstances — from the very young to the elderly, from animals to the environment itself.
