A VISIT TO OLD AGE HOME
On 10th September 2026, council members of Class 10, along with two teachers, visited Majhe Ghar- Old Age Home, Dombivli as a part of SENIOR CITIZEN DAY CELEBRATION
The purpose of the visit was to spend time with the elderly and understand their life and experiences.
We reached there at 11:00 a.m. There were about 19 residents. We were warmly welcomed by the caretaker. The home was clean, peaceful and well-maintained.
We interacted with the grandparents, listened to their stories. Some of them shared their childhood memories and blessed us for our future. We also distributed biscuits and handmade greeting card.
It was an emotional experience. Many of them are away from their families, but they were full of love and positivity. They were very happy to see us and asked us to visit again.
The visit taught us a valuable lesson - to respect, love and care for our elders. It was not just a visit, it was a reminder that a little time and love can bring a big smile.
We returned to school by 1:00 p.m. with heavy hearts but with a promise to never forget our elders.
